Olayinka crowned as new Olu-Odo in Odo-Ijesa

Hundreds Of Odo Ijesa sons and daughters thronged the streets of the ancient town on Thursday in celebration of the coronation of Prince Femi Olayinka as the new Olu Odo of Odo Ijesa .

Odo-Ijesa is a town in Atakumosa east local government of Osun State, founded by Olubikin Agbogbonigbo in the 12th century.

Speaking shortly after the coronation process, The New Monarch described his coronation as a new dawn for the town of Odo Ijesa .

Oba Olayinka said he will work with the government and other traditional rulers across Ijesaland and Osun State to foster peace, harmony and socio-economic development .

He called on Indigenes of Odo Ijesa far and near to support him in bringing further progress and greater prosperity for Odo Ijesa just as he appreciated the support of the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran and members of the Ijesa South Traditional Council.

Speaking on behalf of the Ijesa South Traditional Council, The Ogboni of Ipole Ijesa Oba Oyebade Samson Kehinde urged the new monarch to follow in the worthy and commendable footsteps of his predecessors by working diligently for peace and development .

He prayed that Almighty God would grant the monarch long life, good health and the wisdom he needs for a successful reign

A citizen of the town, Mr Oladiran Abiodun Coker who spoke with LoveNigeria News said it was a long battle won just as he prayed that the reign of the new Olu Odo of Odo Ijesa will bring tremendous development to the town.
