Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has expressed gratitude to the people of Osun for their steadfast support of his administration’s efforts to implement his five-point agenda under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking at a technical meeting of his Policy Coordination Unit on Saturday, the Governor reviewed the progress made so far and expressed satisfaction with the achievements in various sectors.
A Statement by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Olawale Rasheed said Governor Adeleke noted that the administration has exceeded expectations within the first one and a half years and emphasized the need to intensify efforts as they approach the mid-term mark.
He highlighted positive public feedback, especially in areas such as workers’ welfare, infrastructure, health, and education, attributing their success to the strong support from the community.
The Governor mentioned that the administration has an approval rating of over 80 percent and acknowledged the importance of addressing the remaining gaps. He also pointed out that the PDP has strengthened its presence across local governments, gaining support even from leaders who were initially not aligned with him.
Governor Adeleke emphasized the balanced focus on both physical and human development, ensuring that infrastructure projects do not overshadow efforts in human capital development. He called for better coordination in policy design and implementation, stressing the importance of policy innovation in various sectors like power, digital economy, agriculture, economic planning, investment, sustainable development, youth development, and gender focus.
The Policy Coordination Unit, which reports to the Chief of Staff, plays a crucial role in this process.
