Davido Reveals Annual N400m Contribution to Orphanages

Afrobeat star David Adeleke, known as Davido, has disclosed that he spends N400 million annually on orphanages through his foundation.

This revelation came during a courtesy visit to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.

During the visit, Akpabio praised Davido for his international success and his contributions to Nigeria’s global image.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the entertainment industry and urged Davido and other artists to maintain high ethical standards and resist negative peer influences.

Akpabio highlighted the inclusiveness of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, noting their bipartisan approach to governance.

He encouraged Davido to remain apolitical and continue excelling in his field, stressing the importance of patience and prayers for success.

Davido shared details about his foundation’s efforts, which include providing food, clothing, education, and medical care to orphaned and abandoned children.

He stressed the significance of private sector contributions to social welfare, complementing governmental efforts.

In addition, Davido announced the upcoming release of his new album in June or July.

Akpabio commended his philanthropic activities and called on other celebrities and wealthy individuals to emulate Davido’s example.

He assured Davido of the Senate’s support in crafting policies that encourage private contributions to social causes.
