Osun State Police Alert: Rising Trend of Okada Snatching Crimes

The Osun State Police Command has warned motorcyclists, particularly commercial Okada riders, to be cautious of the passengers they carry.

A statement by Police Public Relations Officer SP Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin highlighted a disturbing trend in bike snatching crimes where Criminals lure motorcyclists to isolated areas late at night, often with enticing prices, only to attack them and steal their bikes as Some victims have been severely injured or even killed.

The Statement said the Commissioner of Police Mohammed Umar Abba has urged the Okada Riders Association to educate their members to avoid falling prey to these crimes.

The Command advised reporting any suspicious passengers to the nearest police station, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors in Osun State while working tirelessly to apprehend and prosecute those involved in these heinous acts.
