Osun Assembly Passes Osun State Public Complaints, Anti-Corruption (Establishment) Bill, 2023

The Osun State House of Assembly has passed the Osun State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission Bill into law.

A statement issued by Olamide Tiamiyu, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly said the significant legislative action took place on Tuesday following the third reading of the bill and a subsequent voice vote.

The Statement said the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, instructed the clerk, Mr. Simeon Amusan, to prepare the finalized version of the bill for the Governor’s assent.

Comprising 58 clauses, the new law aims to provide a robust legal framework for combating corruption and enhancing accountability within the state.

Rt. Hon. Egbedun expressed strong confidence in the bill, highlighting that it equips the state with essential tools to tackle corruption effectively.

The House session was adjourned until Monday, July 8th, 2024.
